Software solution
School Management System for Schools and Multi-Campus Groups
Bring admissions, attendance, timetabling, fees, exams and parent communication into one secure platform your staff, parents and students actually use.
What is a school management system?
A school management system is the software that runs a school's administration: student records, admissions, attendance, timetables, fees, exams and communication with parents. Instead of separate spreadsheets, paper registers and messaging apps, everything lives in one place with one set of records.
Syntrix's school management system is a configurable platform. We set it up around your grading scheme, fee structure, term dates and reporting formats, and extend it where your school has requirements that off-the-shelf products do not cover.
Who it is for
- Independent and private schools that need admissions, fee collection and polished parent communication.
- School groups and multi-campus trusts that want central reporting with campus-level control.
- Colleges and training academies running courses, batches and assessments.
Core modules
Admissions and student records
Online application forms, document upload, enquiry tracking and enrolment feed a single student profile that follows the learner through the school.
Attendance and timetabling
Teachers take registers on a phone or tablet in seconds. Absences trigger parent notifications automatically, and timetables handle rooms, teachers and cover.
Fees and finance
Define fee structures, discounts and instalments, issue invoices, accept online payments and chase arrears with automated reminders.
Exams, gradebook and report cards
Configure assessments, enter marks, calculate grades against your scheme and generate report cards that match your template.
Parent and student portal
Parents see attendance, homework, results, fee statements and announcements in a web portal and mobile app.

Choosing and budgeting
Every school's priorities differ. Our guide on how to choose school management software covers evaluation criteria, data migration and the questions to ask suppliers, and our article on school management software cost explains the real cost drivers — number of students, modules, integrations and hosting — so you can budget realistically.
Configured platform or custom build?
Most schools start with the configured platform. Where you need something genuinely different — a bespoke curriculum model, integration with a government reporting system or a white-labelled product for your group — our school management software development team builds it on the same foundation.
Next step

Technical information & deployment
Deployment options
The platform is delivered as a cloud-hosted web application with Android and iOS apps for parents and teachers. Hosting can be in our managed Azure environment or in your group's own cloud subscription where data residency rules require it.
Data security and privacy
Schools handle sensitive data about children, so security is designed in from the start:
- Role-based access, so teachers only see their own classes and parents only see their own children.
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, with regular automated backups.
- Audit logs for changes to marks, attendance and fee records.
- Configurable data retention to support your data protection obligations.
Technical information
Built on ASP.NET Core with SQL Server, an Angular web front end and cross-platform mobile apps. A REST API supports integrations with payment gateways, learning platforms and government reporting systems.
Onboarding
- Configure academic years, terms, classes, grading and fee structures.
- Migrate student, staff and fee data from spreadsheets or your current system.
- Train administrators, then teachers, then launch the parent app.
Most schools start with admissions, attendance and fees, then add exams and transport in a second phase.
Technology stack
- ASP.NET Core
ASP.NET Core is our default framework for secure web applications and REST APIs: fast, cross-platform and well suited to complex business logic and integrations.
- Angular
Angular development for large, form-heavy enterprise applications where consistent structure, strong typing and long-term maintainability across teams matter most.
- SQL Server
SQL Server and Azure SQL power many of our ERP, POS and reporting systems, offering strong transactional integrity, rich tooling and tight integration with .NET.
- Flutter
Flutter lets us ship polished iOS and Android apps from one codebase, with smooth custom UI and near-native performance, often at lower cost than two native apps.

What our clients say
Parents now have one app instead of four, and our office teams have stopped spending Monday mornings chasing absence calls. The migration was the part we worried about most, and the trial runs meant there were no surprises on go-live day.
We used to lose half a day's takings every time a store's broadband went down. Since the new tills went in, outages barely register, and head office can change a price at lunchtime and see it on every shelf-edge promotion by the afternoon.
The assistant resolves the repetitive how-do-I questions and hands everything else to us with a proper summary. Our agents spend their time on the tricky tickets now, and customers get answers at 2am without us adding a night shift.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does a school management system include?
Typically admissions, student records, attendance, timetabling, fees, exams and report cards, plus a parent and student portal. Many schools add transport, hostel and library modules. Our guide to school management software features explains each module in detail.
How much does school management software cost?
Cost depends on the number of students and campuses, the modules you need, integrations and hosting. A configured platform costs far less than a fully custom build. Our article on school management software cost breaks down the drivers so you can budget realistically.
Can we migrate data from our current system?
Yes. We import student, staff, class and fee data from spreadsheets or your existing software, validate it with your admin team and run a trial import before go-live. Historical marks and attendance can usually be migrated too, depending on the source format.
Is there a mobile app for parents and teachers?
Yes. Parents get an app for attendance, homework, results, fees and announcements, and teachers can take registers and message parents from their phones. Both apps are available on Android and iOS and can carry your school's branding.
