Service
Web Application Development Company for Business-Critical Software
We design, build and run secure web applications — customer portals, internal tools and multi-tenant platforms — that replace spreadsheets and outgrown off-the-shelf systems.
What we mean by a web application
A website mainly publishes information. A web application does work: it stores data, enforces business rules, handles logins and permissions, and connects to other systems. Typical examples we build include customer self-service portals, booking and scheduling systems, operations dashboards, approval workflows, B2B ordering platforms and internal tools that replace a tangle of spreadsheets and emails.
How we build web applications
Most of our web applications use ASP.NET Core on the back end with React, Angular or Next.js on the front end, backed by SQL Server or PostgreSQL. That combination is mature, fast and easy to hire for, which matters when you own the code for the next ten years.
We favour a pragmatic architecture:
- A modular monolith first. Clean module boundaries without the operational cost of microservices. We split services out only when load or team size justifies it.
- An API-first back end, so a mobile app or partner integration can reuse the same business logic later. See our API development service.
- Role-based access control and audit trails built in from the first sprint, not bolted on before go-live.
- Automated tests and CI/CD pipelines so releases are routine rather than risky.
When a custom web app makes sense
Custom development is not always the right answer. If a mainstream SaaS product covers 90% of what you need, use it. A custom web application pays off when:
- Your process is a genuine competitive advantage and generic tools force you to work around it.
- You are paying for several overlapping subscriptions and re-keying data between them.
- You need to offer customers or partners a branded portal with your own rules and pricing.
- You want to turn an internal tool into a product — in which case read about our SaaS development approach.
What drives cost and timeline
The biggest cost drivers are the number of user roles, the complexity of workflows, the number of integrations (ERP, payments, identity providers) and reporting requirements. A focused internal tool can go live in 8–12 weeks; a multi-tenant customer platform typically takes 4–9 months. Our guide on custom software development cost breaks this down in more detail.
Built to be handed over
You own the source code, infrastructure and documentation. We deploy to your Azure or AWS account, document the architecture and runbooks, and offer ongoing support — or a clean handover to your in-house team if you prefer.

Benefits
Why invest in web application development
Fits your process, not the other way round
Workflows, fields and approval rules are modelled on how your team actually works, cutting workarounds and re-keying.
Access from anywhere
Staff, customers and partners use the same secure system from any modern browser, with no installs to manage.
One source of truth
Replace scattered spreadsheets and inboxes with a single database, clear ownership and audit history.
Room to grow
An API-first, modular design means new features, mobile apps and integrations can be added without a rewrite.
Capabilities
What we build and deliver
Role-based access control
Granular permissions per role, team or tenant, with optional single sign-on through Microsoft Entra ID or Google.
Responsive, accessible UI
Interfaces built to WCAG 2.2 AA guidance that work equally well on a desktop, tablet or phone.
Dashboards and reporting
Live KPIs, filterable tables and scheduled exports so managers stop asking for weekly spreadsheets.
Workflow and approvals
Configurable multi-step approvals, status tracking and notifications by email or Teams.
Integrations
Connections to ERP, CRM, payment gateways, accounting packages and identity providers via REST APIs and webhooks.
Audit trail and history
Every change is logged with who, what and when — essential for compliance and for resolving disputes.
Process
How we deliver
A transparent, milestone-based process with working software at every stage.
Discovery and scoping
Stakeholder workshops, process mapping and a prioritised backlog with a realistic estimate and release plan.
UX and clickable prototype
Wireframes and an interactive prototype tested with real users before any production code is written.
Iterative build
Two-week sprints with a working demo at the end of each, deployed to a staging environment you can try yourself.
Testing and hardening
Automated and exploratory testing, performance checks, security review and data migration rehearsals.
Launch and support
Phased rollout, user training, monitoring and an agreed support plan for fixes and new features.

ASP.NET Core is our default framework for secure web applications and REST APIs: fast, cross-platform and well suited to complex business logic and integrations.
- React
We build responsive, accessible React front ends for dashboards, portals and SaaS products, backed by clean APIs and a component library you can maintain.
- Angular
Angular development for large, form-heavy enterprise applications where consistent structure, strong typing and long-term maintainability across teams matter most.
- Next.js
Next.js lets us build fast, search-friendly React websites and web apps with server rendering, ideal for marketing sites, storefronts and SaaS products that need SEO.
- Microsoft Azure
We design, build and run applications on Microsoft Azure: App Service, containers, Azure SQL, Functions and Azure OpenAI, with security and cost control built in.
- .NET
We use Microsoft .NET to build fast, secure and maintainable business software: web APIs, ERP and POS back ends, background services and cross-platform apps.

What our clients say
Parents now have one app instead of four, and our office teams have stopped spending Monday mornings chasing absence calls. The migration was the part we worried about most, and the trial runs meant there were no surprises on go-live day.
We used to lose half a day's takings every time a store's broadband went down. Since the new tills went in, outages barely register, and head office can change a price at lunchtime and see it on every shelf-edge promotion by the afternoon.
The assistant resolves the repetitive how-do-I questions and hands everything else to us with a proper summary. Our agents spend their time on the tricky tickets now, and customers get answers at 2am without us adding a night shift.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does custom web application development cost?
It depends mainly on the number of user roles, workflows, integrations and reports. A focused internal tool often sits in the low tens of thousands, while a multi-tenant customer platform costs considerably more. We always provide a range after a short discovery phase, and our cost guide explains the drivers.
How long does it take to build a web application?
A minimum viable version of an internal tool typically takes 8–12 weeks. Larger platforms with many integrations take 4–9 months, usually released in phases so you get value early.
Which technologies do you use for web applications?
Mostly ASP.NET Core and C# on the back end, with React, Angular or Next.js on the front end and SQL Server or PostgreSQL for data. We host on Azure or AWS depending on your existing setup.
Will we own the source code?
Yes. The code, infrastructure and documentation belong to you and live in your own repositories and cloud accounts from day one.
